The planning committee of Blackpool Council has given planning permission to the much anticipated Talbot Gateway Project.
The project will transform the area around Blackpool North railway station from a run down area to a gateway fit for a major resort in the 21st Century. The project is backed by Blackpool Council, Re:Blackpool, the North West Development Agency (who have so far provided £20 million) and Muse Developments. The total cost of the project will be £220 million.
Muse Developments have engaged How Planning Ltd to help with the submission of the planning forms and the fee alone for the application to the council was £15,985.
Construction of phase one, which will consist of council offices, a supermarket and a public area, is expected to start in 2011.

I do hope hordes of us who love Blackpool will check out the MUSE website and begin to tell them what we as residents or visitors would like to see included in the project – it is too late to moan once the deed has been done.
